On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, The School Foundation hosted its 25th annual gala, a sold-out event that welcomed 788 guests in celebration of educational achievement and community leadership. This year’s gala honored Judge Haigh Porter for his contributions to the community and commitment to education.
A highlight of the evening was the announcement of Meagan Johnson of Royall Elementary School as Florence 1 Schools’ Teacher of the Year. Johnson will go on to represent the district in the upcoming South Carolina Teacher of the Year competition.
