Myrtle Beach Harley Week Statistics

Each year, thousands of bikers travel to South Carolina’s beautiful Atlantic Coast for a celebration of motorcycles known as Myrtle Beach Bike Week.

For decades, motorcyclists have headed to Myrtle Beach to enjoy the city’s entertainment, tasty seafood restaurants, and some of the best biker bars in the country.

What Is Myrtle Beach Bike Week?

The 81st annual Bike Week, which runs from July 13 – 19, 2020, is a riding event that celebrates motorcycles while also bringing awareness to bike safety.

Myrtle Beach Bike Week Dates 2020

  • July 13 – 19, 2020

How to Participate

The best way to experience Bike Week is to cruise along the coastline of the Carolinas and take it all in. Bike routes going both north and south offer plenty of tourist attractions and pretty scenery.

Below are some highlights from each route:

  • Going South — Enjoy the gorgeous coastline from Murrells Inlet, just south of Myrtle Beach, to Charleston. The waterfront in Georgetown is a terrific spot to relax, and the ride to Charleston has historic plantation homes. The picturesque waterfront of Historic Downtown Charleston has drawn national acclaim.
  • Going North – Delicious seafood restaurants in Calabash, North Carolina, plus resort towns and historical attractions, can be found on the way to Wilmington, North Carolina. Points of interest in Wilmington include the USS North Carolina battleship, Cape Fear Museum of History and Science, Bellamy Mansion Museum, and Airlie Gardens, a vast public garden with thousands of beautiful magnolias, azaleas, camellias, and more.

Motorcycle Safety Tips

While you are enjoying the sights and sounds of Myrtle Beach Bike Week, safety needs to be your No. 1 priority.  Here are eight tips for staying safe during Bike Week:

  • Keep your skills sharp through practice and education.
  • Always wear a helmet.
  • Wear protective gear and clothing.
  • Maintain a safe following distance.
  • Avoid riding during bad weather.
  • Invest in anti-lock brakes for your bike.
  • Watch closely for hazards in the road.
  • Never drink and ride.

When you follow the above tips, motorcycle accidents and injuries are less likely to happen. Many experienced motorcycle riders have never been involved in an accident because of their attention and commitment to safety. However, even the safest biker has no control over what other motorists do on the road.

Have a safe and fun time at this year’s Bike Week!
