When should I contact an attorney? So, how soon one contacts a lawyer is very important. Evidence in a case is freshest when it first happens and so the longer someone waits before they contact a lawyer, well, the longer it's going to be before I'm able to get my investigative team and get out there. We like to get our investigative team out immediately and capture information. We've had a situation where there was a double fatality and I got contacted within the hour and after the double fatality while all of the investigating officers were there, we had our investigating team there, in fact, we identified information that the investigating officers just didn't realize was there so we were able to assist by providing additional information that we would not have been in a position to do had we not gotten contacted right away. So, the sooner that we get contacted, the sooner I'm able to get started and get my investigative team going, the better job we can do because the evidence will be freshest.
