Before hiring a lawyer, what are some good questions to ask them. You know, you want to make sure, not only that you have the basic information but you want to make sure that your comfort level is where it needs to be with that individual because you're building a relationship so I think you want to ask them about their experience, you want to ask them about their background, you want to ask them about how is the process going to work so that you understand on the front end what to expect later on. How often can I expect to hear from my lawyer? How can I contact the lawyer, what are the different ways? Can I reach in person? Am I able to do it by Zoom? Can I text? Can I email? How quickly will I get a response back? How long will the process take? Where are the problems that may arise? What are the costs going to be? Will the costs mean anything on the front end or will I need to wait, will that law firm wait until after the case is over with until I have to pay? How are the medical bills going to be handled? Who's going to deal with the insurance company? What about my property damage? There's a whole host of questions that you need to get asked and number 1, to get the answers, but also number 2, to make sure that that lawyer has the experience to be able to answer those questions. And if you are engaging with a conversation with that lawyer and you don't feel comfortable knowing that that lawyer has the experience to be able to answer those questions fully and completely to your satisfaction then you need to reconsider. Our advice is always to make sure that you have a lawyer that's representing you in the very serious personal injury cases is one that you have comfort level with, that has the experience and background that can get the job done and do it well and maintain that relationship throughout.
