Should I settle with the other driver's insurance company on my own? Well, anytime someone decides to do that they're taking a chance. What we see is insurance companies, my gosh, they even go up to the hospital and try to get people who are laying up in a hospital bed to sign off on documents, to sign a release. Once you sign that release, you're done. It is a forever and forever so long as you shall live, your heirs, executors, assigns, administrators, everybody everybody from matters that you know about, ones you don't know about, and there's a great risk that if the injuries go on and on and now the person, you need more treatment, you need further medical care and you've signed that, now all of a sudden, it's like wait a minute I want to open my case back up. Once you've signed that release, you can't open your case back up again. Promise you, they will fight you tooth and nail to make sure you don't open that case back up again. So, it is our advice before you sign anything, come get legal advice. Very, very important that you get and listen, if it's a very minor in jury and it's a fair offer that's made and 100% recovery and someone comes to see me and they say listen, does it make sense for me to hire you? And I look at them and go, you know what, it seems pretty fair. No, I think you probably oughta go ahead and do it after we've had a question and answer and talked about it and I can make sure with confidence that that person is fine, listen it's been three months, I'm doing ok, I haven't had any more pain, I just had the ER visit and that's it and so frequently I'll tell a client, no what they're offering you seems reasonable and that's good. Unfortunately, it's just most of the times that's not the way it is. Most of the times, the offers that are made are just not reasonable and the insurance company is taking advantage of you and they know information you don't. They deal with this everyday. Exactly, that's what they do all day every day and you want to come to somebody, like us at Jebaily Law Firm that this is what we do all day everyday. And you want to have that trust relationship and know that the lawyer you're talking to and the staff that you're talking to are going to be straight up and honest with you. So, our advice is do not settle, sign anything until you've come to meet with us and get that legal advice that you need.
